The third MAXI National Food Festival: Supporting local producers and sustainable agricultural production

Through cooperation with more than 250 domestic agricultural suppliers, Delhaize Serbia offers fresh, high-quality locally sourced products in its MAXI stores year-round, supporting the development of local agriculture.

As a sign of appreciation for its producers, Delhaize Serbia once again entrusted Two Rivers with the organization of the MAXI National Food Festival, held for the third consecutive year. The aim of the festival was to present visitors with the rich assortment of products available in MAXI stores, as well as to familiarize them with their origin and production methods.

The festival brought together numerous guests, including representatives of the country’s leadership, relevant institutions, international and domestic business associations, the academic community as well as local agricultural producers. A special part of the program was dedicated to discussions on the importance of sustainable production and responsible business practices in the food sector.

One of the central segments of the festival was a panel discussion titled “Sustainable food production for healthier people and a healthier planet,” where experts from various fields shared their experiences and perspectives on the future of sustainable agriculture.

During the event, awards were also presented for outstanding contributions to sustainable business practices, best practices in reducing food waste, improvements in the production of fruit with reduced pesticide residues, as well as contributions to reducing CO₂ emissions through the implementation of MAXI programs aimed at reducing pesticide residues.

With the participation of more than 30 domestic producers, the festival once again highlighted the importance of connecting local production, sustainable practices, and consumers.
